Where To Celebrate Halloween In Moscow?

Halloween! Is there anyone else who hasn’t heard about this terrific holiday? It’s no use denying that it won the hearts of people around the globe ages ago. Halloween origins steep in pagan times when  the Celts took part in Druidic rituals  to scare off the dead who had stepped  foot on the land of the living. We have similar holidays which  date back to the ancient times too: Kupala Night, Kolyada etc. No wonder, then, that the Russians enjoy  Halloween that  badly. But how do we usually celebrate it? In this article we will do our best to show  you several events devoted  to the celebration  of this delightful event.

  

 

1. Meat and pumpkin on fire

In the program of the mystical evening:

* Salad with baked pumpkin and seared peach;
* Spicy pork in pumpkin with leeks, corn, white beans, dark beer and tomatoes;
* Pumpkin cake with Italian meringue;
* Pumpkin punch;

* Horror films of the era of silent movies;
* Lottery with a tasty prize;

2. Enjoying yourself and learning! Are these two things actually possible?

Every year Britannia School hosts a fantastic party for children aged 3 to 7. As usual, it will take place  during the Saturday Club in the English language. What to expect? Fun games, a costume contest, making Halloween-related drawings  and,  of course, creative snacks.  The icing on the cake will be  a scary scavenger hunt. All the activities  are to be held by British teachers.

3. Are you ready to get magical powers?

On the 31th of October the Ministry of magic will open its doors for all lovers of mysteries and wonders. You’ll be able to dive deeply into the history of secret knowledge and start creating magic of your own. Enchanted exhibits from fairy tales, books and fantasy films, original quizzes, virtual worlds, optical illusions, a  show of professional illusionists – and this is only one part of the things that you’re going to see.

4. Nothing like a good party

Now and then we feel the urge to cut loose and  get away from all the pressures and problems that burden our life. Believe us, our partners MIE (Moscow International Events) will grant our wishes. After a hard day’s work  you’ll be able to celebrate the most memorable and scary night of this autumn. Just make sure you  stand out – don’t forget to put on a costume or a mask!

5. Harry Potter lovers, get excited!

It’s hard to imagine a person who has never heard about the boy who lived. This series of books has long been considered to be a true masterpiece of world literature.  And  let’s not forget about the films that have also taken a special place in hearts of many generations of magic lovers. This Halloween will give you a chance to enjoy the live concert in which «Cinemaniacs Orchestra» will perform  famous soundtracks from Harry Potter bestsellers.

7. Zombieland-2!

The second part of Zombieland must be as good as the first one:
Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock move to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors, and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family with privileges and discounts!

8. How about a good old coming-of-age tale?

This classic tale is full of superb original music and slapstick clowning as well as some lyrical and poignant episodes and is suitable for children of all ages. The story will be told in a very accessible and interactive manner with dance, mime and clowning (a synopsis is available on request)
